Patience, empathy, and the ability to truly listen are the gifts I’ve been given that I value the most. I believe these qualities shine the brightest in me when I’m serving others. I started working at my first Montessori school while attending college at Texas State. I felt an extreme sense of peace and belonging with the first step I took into the cozy, hard wood floored building. It was then I knew my life would never be the same. I had no previous knowledge of the Montessori philosophy, but knew it was exactly where I was always supposed to be. I soon realized that the Montessori philosophy agreed with the deepest most natural part of who I am.
In 2008 I started working at LHM as the co-guide in the young primary room. When the new school year started I became the lead Guide in the same classroom. I absolutely loved it! With the birth of my first child, I took a break to spend some time at home. When my son turned two, Lake Hills welcomed him as a new student and me back as the afternoon director. I am also so thankful to be working in a position that seems to be the perfect fit for me. Life’s experiences have given me the opportunity to be in the position of co-guide, lead guide, and parent which gives me a great deal of understanding for all of the people I am surrounded by every day, and a special insight on how to help them meet their needs. I have never been happier! I am thrilled that my child and I both have the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful program, in a school filled with love, joy and light.
